Town profile video player

In Nashville, the high-flying ghosts of country music’s past mingle with music personalities of the present. From Music Row’s numerous recording studios to the street performers on Second Avenue picking notes furiously on their banjos or mandolins, just walking the Nashville streets is a walk through vibrant chapters of music history. Anyone can trace the paths of legends from Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson to Johnny Cash. Check out the Printers Alley bars and Lower Broadway honky-tonks that inspired their favorite ballads and anthems. Add in famed venues like the Ryman Auditorium and Elliston Place’s Exit/Inn, and it's clear why Nashville maintains the coveted title of "Music City." -David Silverstein
