The University of Pennsylvania Bands Venues Stores Eat & Drink Around Town
Eat & Drink
Allegro Pizza
3942 Spruce St.
Sunday – Wednesday: 11 a.m. – 12 a.m.
Thursday – Saturday: 11 a.m. – 2 a.m.

Over the course of an evening of partying, most students end up at Allegro at least once for a slice of its delicious pies. From traditional cheese and tomato to the signature “Allegro White” (spinach, tomato, ricotta cheese), each variety is equally tasty (and cheap –- slices run from $2.00 to 2.85). The restaurant also boasts a wide menu of other Italian-style pasta dishes and calzones, as well as traditional greasy fare -– wings, fries, and burgers. If you’re of age, there’s a well-stocked beer selection, including the option to build your own six-pack. – Grace Ambrose

Bui’s Lunch Truck
Intersection of 38th and Spruce Streets, Northwest corner
7 a.m. - 6 p.m .

Get in line with the rest of University City’s college students on Saturday and Sunday mornings for Bui’s famous “hangover special” –- a ham, sausage, egg and cheese sandwich accompanied by a 20-oz. Gatorade of your choice, all for only $6. The truck, owned by the Bui family, has been a college-student staple for 15 years. If you’re not up for the challenge of the hangover special, the truck offers normal breakfast sandwich staples, all for exceedingly low prices. The line might be long, but the wait is well worth it. – Grace Ambrose
